According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are hopeful of landing Stoke City striker Joselu in a £5m deal, as well as a loan deal for Chelsea’s Kenedy.

Indeed, the former is understood to have been the subject of a snubbed bid from the Magpies, an offer that’s said to have been seen as ‘derisory’.  However, according to this report, there’s a hope on Tyneside that a deal can be agreed.

The Spaniard spent last season out on loan with Deporitvo La Coruna and, while he never proved overly prolific for the Potters, did impress over the course of their pre-season campaign.

Kenedy, meanwhile, was thought to be close to joining the Magpies earlier this week, though was named in Antonio Conte’s match day squad. Still, that may have been as a result of the Blues’ paper thin squad.

Both would give Newcastle options in attacking areas, something Rafa Benitez currently lacks and could help alleviate some of the pressure on the club after a relatively frustrating summer window.
