Newcastle United are facing almost certain failure in their attempts to sign Lucas Perez.
According to a report on TalkSPORT the Arsenal striker has got five different clubs interested in taking him from the Emirates.
Perez joined Arsenal a year ago from Deportivo la Coruna but spent last season as third or fourth choice striker for Arsene Wenger.
A fee of £13.4m has been circulated with a number of clubs on the continent interested in signing the 28-year-old.
According to TalkSPORT the players agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle told AS: “Two clubs in Spain have already contacted Perez for a transfer, Sevilla also want to sign him, and a German team and Fenerbahce are negotiating to sign the player.”
Rafa Benitez has brought in five new players since securing promotion and has made bringing in a striker and goalkeeper his priorities.
Since failing to bring in Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea Newcastle have been linked with a number of strikers but as it stands they are going into the Premier League with only Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic as first team strikers.
