West Ham look like beating Newcastle to sign Joe Hart.
According to a report in The Chronicle West Ham are expected to make a move for the out of favour Manchester City keeper who spent last season on loan at Torino.
Newcastle’s search for a goalkeeper has been well documented with Hart, Pepe Reina and Willy Caballero Rafa Benitez’s first choices.
With Caballero opting to join Chelsea and Reina close to agreeing a new deal with Napoli it looks like Benitez will have to look elsewhere if West Ham succeed in signing Hart.
City are looking to sell the keeper for close to £20m but despite half a dozen years at the top of his game there has been no stampede to sign Hart.
West Ham are hoping to discuss a season long loan for the keeper but at this stage in the transfer window City are likely to hold out for a permanent deal.
