Newcastle have re-entered the race to sign Badou N’Diaye.

Last week it seemed certain that the Osmanlispor midfielder was on his way to West Ham but the Northern Echo is reporting that Newcastle are still in the hunt.

N’Diaye has been playing in Turkey for the last two years and is thought to have the style of play ideally suited to playing in England.

The 26-year-old has scored 17 goals in the last two seasons and shows the same type of play that had Newcastle interested in Fulham’s Tom Cairney.

A £20m price tag and new contract for the midfielder killed that option stone dead with N’Diaye available at half that price despite being a Senegal internationalist that has played successfully in Norway and Turkey.

Benitez has stated that his preference is to sign players experienced in the British game but with prices starting at £15m the Newcastle boss has been forced to extend his scouting net.
