Newcastle have turned their attention to Joe Hart as they look for a new goalkeeper.

According to a report in The Sun the out of favour Manchester City keeper is attracting the attention of Rafa Benitez.

Hart is surplus to requirements at Manchester City with Pep Guardiola refusing to consider a u-turn despite City’s goalkeeping problems last season.

The England keeper has two years left on a lucrative contract at City but must move on if he is to stand a chance of being England keeper at the World Cup Finals in Russia.

First choice keeper Willy Caballero has opted to go to Chelsea as back up while Pepe Reina appears ready to stay on at Napoli.

Those developments have forced Benitez to consider other options with Hart an obvious transfer target although Newcastle face competition from Watford and West Ham to sign the keeper. Who spent last season on loan at Torino.
