Newcastle are set to change their transfer policy with a £10m offer for Jacob Murphy.
According to a report in The Northern Echo Newcastle will make a take it or leave it offer to Norwich for their prized England u-21 internationalist.
Newcastle have been in talks with the Championship side for Murphy but have been accused on dragging their feet and putting in unrealistic bids.
Pre-season kicks off tomorrow against Hearts with just one new face, Florian Lejeune added to last season’s promotion winning squad.
Bringing in a pacey winger has been a priority for Rafa Benitez since he failed to sign Andros Townsend in January with Murphy a younger version of the former Spurs winger.
Murphy is believed to be keen on moving to Newcastle which could help push the deal over the line.
The 22-year-old had an impressive season in the Championship last term and carried that form into the European Championships with the England u-21 side.
