There’s barely a dissenting voice among Newcastle fans over the signing of Lucas Perez from Arsenal.
Whether it’s a loan or permanent transfer doesn’t seem to matter to the fans who are desperate to have a striker capable of plundering the goals needed for their return to the Premier League.
Although Perez failed to make an impression on Arsene Wenger a Champions League hat-trick away to Basel and a goal every second game the previous season at Deportivo la Coruna suggest that he has the pedigree Newcastle require.

A year ago Arsenal forked out £17m to sign Perez from Deportivo but it seems that he was never considered a likely starter at the Emirates.
The outstanding form of Alexis Sanchez saw the Chilean firmly established as the first choice striker with Olivier Giroud revelling in the unwanted role of super-sub.
With less than a fortnight to go until the opening Premier League fixture the need to bring in a striker is getting greater by the day with Perez the man that Newcastle fans are looking for.
