The possible departure of Emmanuel Riviere to Mtez has been greeted with joy by Newcastle fans on twitter.
Getting the misfiring striker off the premises has been a source of pleasure while a £5m transfer fee is the equivalent of a lottery win.
£5M for riviere what time does he want to leave? #NUFC pic.twitter.com/iyEbchGXoO

Was convinced that Riviere would go all Winston Bogarde on #NUFC. Genuinely staggering that two clubs are interested.

You won’t find a better deal this summer than the reported £5m we’re apparently receiving for Rivière. Absolute robbery #nufc

Riviere spent last season failing to find the net for Osasuna following two seasons at St James’ Park that had delivered a solitary league goal.
Back in 2014 a £5m striker still attracted some expectations but it quickly became obvious that Riviere wasn’t destined for the Hall of Fame.
When Rafa Benitez took charge it was clear that there was no way back for Riviere, even the departure of Daryl Murphy and failure to bring in a striker during this window made no difference to the prospects of the former Monaco striker.
With another misfit gone the focus again is on who will be coming in with a striker and goalkeeper the priority targets for the former Real Madrid boss.
