Freddie Woodman is wanted on loan by at least four clubs.

According to a report in The Chronicle Peterborough United, Northampton Town, Bury and Kilmarnock are all interested in taking the u-20 World Cup winner on loan.

Woodman spent the second half of last season on loan at Kilmarnock where he made 14 appearances as Lee McCulloch’s side battled away from relegation.

Newcastle want to build on that experience with first team prospects the key factor on where he will spend next season rather than the prestige of the club or their league placing.

A return to Kilmarnock would involve playing on an artificial pitch every second week but it’s unclear if any of the English options would see him come in as first choice keeper.

Sunderland manager to develop Jordan Pickford into a £25m first team goalkeeper following six loans up the divisions with Newcastle using the same blueprint to develop Woodman.
