Jacob Murphy is ready to push for a move to Newcastle.
According to a report in The Chronicle the player has instructed his agent to try to force through a transfer on the back of reports that Newcastle are tabling a take it or leave it bid of £10m.
The development is bound to be welcomed by Newcastle who have found it slow going on the transfer front despite making a range of enquiries.
Bringing in a genuine winger is one of Rafa Benitez’s priorities after the failure to land Andros Townsend from Crystal Palace in January.
Murphy had an outstanding season with Norwich which he carried into the European Championships with England where he was one of the star turns in the u-21 side.
With transfer inflation going through the roof it seems that Norwich are looking to hold out until later in the transfer window but with the player angling for a move it’s likely that a £10m deal will go through.
