There seems little prospect of an early end to the Jacob Murphy transfer saga with the in-demand winger in Germany for Norwich’s pre-season work.
A two hour flight could turn things around but it seems that Norwich have politely declined Newcastle’s reported ‘take it or leave it offer’.
After having an initial offer of £8m rejected Newcastle returned with a £10m bid which could rise to £12m with add-ons.

With Norwich reasonably well run that offer didn’t have them racing to the negotiating table with the saga looking like dragging on for another week at least.
With an apparent ultimatum pointed in their direction Norwich have to be shown as acting strong for their supporters.
Most Canaries fans would reckon that a deal worth north of £10m with a sell on clause would be good value but with transfer inflation through the roof the club can’t be blamed for holding out to see just how badly Newcastle want their player.
