The 19 year old has been on the Magpies’ radar for a number of months and it seems Rafa Benitez will step up the chance to land the youngster in the summer.
Osayi-Samuel is heading into the last year of his contract, and Blackpool are likely to allow the midfielder to leave if a club meets their asking price. They reportedly rejected a £500,000 bid last summer and are looking for at least double that amount after the player’s impressive displays in League Two this campaign.
Heading into the final six games of the season, Osayi Samuel has made 26 appearances in the league, scoring four goals and providing three assists. He has played mostly on the right wing for Blackpool this campaign but can also operate from the left hand side. In the fourth round of the FA Cup back in late January, he also played as a centre forward in the 2-0 loss to Blackburn Rovers.
