Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are all scouting Newcastle defender Lewis Gibson, according to the Bleacher Report.

The 16 year old is one of the club’s most promising academy stars but hasn’t signed a professional contract with the Magpies yet. He is still currently on a scholarship with the club, and Bleacher say that a source has told them that Newcastle are worried about losing him to the Premier League.

Gibson was recently called up for the England Under 17s to play in three European Under 17 Championship qualifiers. He was on the bench for the national side’s 5-3 win over Czech Republic last Thursday, but he started the next two matches against Slovenia and Bosnia.

The centre back scored the winning goal against Bosnia on Tuesday night, with the 1-0 win helping England top the qualifying group after the opening three matches.

For Newcastle, Gibson played in the FA Youth Cup ties against Sunderland and Tottenham earlier this season, although their run ended against Spurs after a 5-3 defeat.
