Newcastle will make another move for Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Magpies made enquiries about the 26 year old in the January transfer window but their approach was rebuffed by the Cottagers. The playmaker put in a man of the match performance against Rafa Benitez’s side a couple of weeks ago, and no doubt the Spaniard was impressed by what he saw.

Fulham are however reluctant to allow Cairney to leave. The Scottish midfielder has been an instrumental part of Slavisa Jokanovic’s team’s push for a playoff spot this campaign. In 41 matches this season, Cairney has scored nine times and provided 11 assists, and has become one of the Championship’s most sought after players.

It is believed that Fulham will demand as much as £12million for the midfielder in the summer, and any move to Tyneside will probably be dependent on the Magpies securing promotion to the Premier League.
