Brentford midfielder Alan Judge has revealed he will find out over the “next few days” whether he will be staying with the Bees beyond the end of his contract in the summer.

The 28 year old suffered a double leg break against Ipswich Town back in April last year, and has not played a single match this campaign in the Championship for his club. He was however subject to interest from Newcastle in the summer with the Magpies anticipating he would have returned to fitness much earlier than has subsequently become apparent.

Speaking to the Irish Times (via the Chronicle), Judge says he thinks he is likely to remain at Griffin Park:

“I’ll find out what’s going to happen in the next week or so. I’ll make a decision, but Brentford to me, at this moment in time, feels like the right place to be. They’ve been good to me and I feel that when I’ve been playing I’ve been good for them, so we fit now and leaving when my last game was the one where I broke my leg never felt completely right. Hopefully you’ll see a bit of news in the next few days.”

Before his injury, Judge had been excelling playing for Brentford in the Championship with 14 goals and 12 assists in 38 matches. He was also capped for the first time by the Republic of Ireland last March in a 1-0 friendly win over Switzerland.
