Newcastle United winger Chrisitan Atsu has little intention of leaving England this month, according to Ghana Soccer Net

The 25-year-old only arrived on Tyneside back in August on a season-long loan deal, though hasn’t always been a regular under Rafa Benitez. As a result, the African midfielder has been linked with a move to Turkey.

However, according to their report, the former FC Porto man has little intention of leaving for the Super Lig and is reportedly happy with life at St. James’ Park. As talented as the winger is, his relatively short career so far has been littered with unhappy loan spells around the continent.

Stints with the likes of Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga have yielded little in the way of success, so a big season in black and white would probably be best suited for his career right now.

A source close to the deal is quoted within their report and they appear to quash suggestions he could leave for Turkey, with his staying in a top European league at least said to be most likely.

“Atsu has no plans of leaving England at the moment. He has no interest in joining any team in Turkey, they say.

“He is enjoying his life at Newcastle United at the moment and wants to continue with his progress at the club.

“In the worse case scenario, he will stay in the top leagues of Europe.”
