Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock are now keen on making a move for Newcastle United defender Jamie Sterry, according to the Chronicle

Killie, now coached by former Toon midfielder Lee Clark, recently completed a triple swoop on the Magpies for U23 trio Freddie Woodman, Sean Longstaff and Callum Roberts are four points off the foot of the SPFL table.

Sterry recently returned from a short stint with Coventry City, where he proved mightily impressive despite the Sky Blues’ struggles in League One.

The 21-year-old could reportedly join his teammates at Rugby Park later this month as Clark looks to fire his side up the table north of the border.

He impressed during pre-season, though has the likes of Vurnon Anita and DeAndre Yedlin ahead of him in the right-back berth under Rafa Benitez in the first-team right now.

A move to the SPFL could help further his development after playing 20 times at the Ricoh Arena.
