Who needs Jack?
Jack Colback was left out of the matchday squad altogether yesterday as the promising Shelvey-Hayden partnership returned for the first time in what seemed like forever. Having been handed a starting berth in the FA Cup during midweek, Daniel Barlaser can now be called upon as backup in central midfield should any of the two get injured.
Colback has been terrible for most of the campaign thus far and offers little in either an attacking or defensive sense, largely only playing because Benitez has been short on numbers in recent weeks.
However, there is now life without him once more.
