Following the loss to Blackburn Rovers, it’s easy to get carried away at Newcastle United right now.
Perhaps for the first time this season, questions are being asked of Rafa Benitez’s selection policy and substitutions, though that is only natural during a relatively rough period.
Still, while it feels strange to question at least aspect of Rafa’s decisions for the first time, it’s important to note the Championship is a notoriously difficult division and the result at Ewood Park was a relatively freakish one.
So, what better way to cheer us all up than the notion of January arrivals?
Though Tom Cleverley is barely the most exciting name to be linked with a move to St. James’ Park over the years, the Everton man would surely be a decent enough signing in the second tier.
It may well provide the former Manchester United and England man a chance to kickstart his stalling career, as well as provide many more options in midfield for Benitez.
