Newcaslte United are ready to appeal BOTH red cards picked up during the loss to Nottingham Forest on Friday night, according to the Shields Gazette

Both Paul Dummett and Jonjo Shelvey were given their marching orders by referee Steve Martin at the City Ground, with Reds midfielder Henri Lansbury involved in both incidents.

The former will be forced to sit out of the upcoming clash with Birmingham City, while the latter could miss three straight games.

Still, the Magpies are said to be furious about the decisions and will reportedly appeal them in a letter to the FA, in which they are believed to aim to cite a raft of dubious decisions throughout the campaign.

While there is cover for Dummett in the squad, Shelvey remains a vital figure in Rafa Benitez’s side, though could be out for an extended period.

The England international also faces an FA hearing in regards to abuse in the league clash with Wolves back in Septemeber.
