The stunning month of October enjoyed by Newcastle United took another turn today, with one of the Toon’s stars on the receiving end of an award.
Summer signing Dwight Gayle capped off a great couple of months with a wonderful four goals as the Magpies won every single game to go top of the Championship.
With 11 goals, the former Crystal Palace ace is second tier’s top scorer so far and is surely on course for a great season in black and white.
So, as you’d expect, the 25-year-old has been awarded the PFA Fans’ Championship Player of the Month for October, despite missing the late doubleheader with Preston North End.
Never handed a regular starting berth often enough by the Eagles, the ex-Peterborough marksman is proving himself a cut above the current division.
