Newcastle will look to seal a loan deal for Brendan Galloway from Everton “next week” according to the Evening Chronicle. The signing was set to go ahead this week with the 20 year old expected to be in the squad for the Huddersfield match but Toffees manager Ronald Koeman has had second thoughts about allowing the left back to leave before they have signed adequate cover.

The Merseyside club have signed Ashley Williams from Swansea for £12million to replace John Stones who move to Manchester City for £47.5million but they are still waiting on signing defender Lamine Kone from Sunderland.

Until more signings arrive, Koeman is believed to want to keep Galloway at the club so he can be included in the squad for upcoming Premier League matches this month. Newcastle are however believed to be confident that the season long loan will be finalised next week when Everton have had a chance to make further acquisitions.
