Mark Douglas for the Evening Chronicle is reporting that the future of Newcastle midfielder Remy Cabella could be resolved in the next few days. The Frenchman struggled in his first season with the Magpies and was loaned out to Marseille last season.
Last campaign the 26 year old made 45 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue One side, scoring 6 goals and providing three assists. At the end of last month, reports in France had suggested that the attacking midfielder had made his move permanent to the French club with a fee believed to be in the region of £7million.
Marseille are currently struggling financially and Cabella’s sale has yet to be confirmed by Newcastle. It now looks likely that the player’s departure will finally be made official this week. The French midfielder made 34 appearances in all competitions for the Magpies after an £8million move from Montpellier in 2014 but never settled on Tyneside.
