Richairo-ZivkovicPremier League duo Newcastle United and Manchester City are battling it out for the signature of FC Groningen youngster Richairo Zivkovic according to the Daily Mail.

17-year-old Zivkovic is getting plenty of attention in Dutch football and has already been watched by the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona and Ajax, but Newcastle and City are thought to have shown the strongest interest.

The 6ft 1in striker has played 21 times in the Dutch Eredivisie in his short career, netting 5 goals to date this season for FC Groningen.

His form for his club side has earned Zivkovic three caps for The Netheralnds’ U19 side as well, with the striker netting twice over those matches.

Zivkovic, who is of Serbian descent, made his club debut when he was just 16 back in December of 2012, and has propelled Groningen to 7th in the league table.

There is no doubt that he is one of the most coveted players in Dutch football and he has even been described as the next Arjen Robben, which gives you an idea of his playing style.

He’d clearly have no trouble destroying Arsenal, but unlike Robben, let’s hope he stays on his feet and can keep off the treatment table!
