Werder Bremen midfielder Aaron Hunt is set for a move to the Premier League in the summer and will have a choice of joining Newcastle United or Southampton according to reports.
The 27-year-old German international is out of contract in June and could be picked up on a Bosman transfer if Bremen fail to agree terms.
Hunt has reportedly been offered a four-year deal worth in excess of 10 million Euros, however he isn’t keen to sign with the lure of the Premier League looming large.
Aaron has an English mother and turned down approaches to play for England in the past but is thought to want to try his hand in English football while he is at the peak of his career.
Currently at Werder Bremen, Hunt has spent his entire senior career to date with the Bundesliga club and during those ten years has played three times for the senior German national team.
An attacking midfielder, Newcastle and Southampton, along with Tottenham Hotspur, are looking to agree a deal that will see him move to England in the summer of this year.
Hunt has scored 40 goals in close to 200 Bundesliga appearances for Werder Bremen but his time in Germany could well be coming to an end…
