Premier League duo Newcastle United and Chelsea are both in the market for Vitesse Arnhem defender Kelvin Leerdam according to reports.
23-year-old Leerdam can play in a variety of positions, which include right back and central midfield, and The Netherlands U21 international has also shown an eye for goal by netting 7 goals in 17 appearances in the Dutch Eredivisie this season.
Born in Suriname, Leerdam spent the majority of his junior career and five years of his senior career with Feyenoord before moving to Vitiesse at the start of 2013.
While Newcastle have shown an interest, Chelsea will be in pole position for the youngster’s signature to their strong ties with the Dutch club that have seen many players sent on loan to Holland.
