Newcastle United Bafetimbi Gomis was on target for Lyon Reserves over the weekend as he netted a brace against Raon L’Etape, with the second being an absolutely stunning overhead kick and showing why the Magpies should push through a move for the Frenchman this summer.
Bafetimbi Gomis’ future is still in limbo, as he continues not to feature for the Lyon first team and while Newcastle have pulled back from negotiations due to issues over agents’ fees, Lyon’s joker of a President Jean-Michel Aulas has said that the 28-year-old wants to play in the Bundesliga in Germany.
So we’re no closer to knowing where Gomis will be playing his football when the transfer window slams shut, but given the quality of goals that he’s able to score, Newcastle United and Joe Kinnear should be doing everything they can to sign him.
