Newcastle United striker Demba Ba has been handed a driving ban after the was twice caught speeding according to the BBC.
Ba might have clocked Newcastle’s fastest speed on the field at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea earlier this season in the Premier League when he reached 20.15 miles per hour, but on the pitch he needs to slow down a bit.
The 27-year-old Senegal international was formally charged with failing to supply information on who was behind the wheel on both occasions.

He can’t be caught speeding in the north-east over the next couple of days, though, as yesterday he Tweeted a picture of himself and Moussa Sow on the plane to Dakar to play an all-important African Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday against the Ivory Coast.
The court was informed that Demba failed to attend two previous hearings, as well as not responding to police letters that were sent last year.
As a result, Ba was fined £1,000, told to pay £85 in costs and fork out for a victim surcharge of £15 – hardly big money to him.
Police wouldn’t release details of the vehicle involved, but if it’s anything like his compatriot Papiss Cisse’s Audi below, then it would be very capable of reaching high speeds…
