Alan Pardew and Yohan CabayeNewcastle United manager Alan Pardew has many great attributes, but according to France midfielder Yohan Cabaye, one of his finest is his gob!

Alan Pardew isn’t a manager that’s short in confidence. He has great belief in his ability, an arrogance if you like, but it seems that when he speaks players listen, and talking is something he does a lot of.

Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye has certainly been very impressed with his current manager in his first year at the club.

Cabaye told The Journal: “He is very much like my coach at Lille, Rudi Garcia, but with an English touch. The manager [Pardew] is a good communicator, a very good talker. French coaches are very talkative as well.”

Yohan Cabaye continued: “Because of this, he helped me settle into life at Newcastle and the way the game is played in England. All the time he would speak to me on a personal level about the tempo of the game and what he wanted of me. I owe him a lot.”

That’s good to hear and if a bid does come in for Cabaye this summer after Euro 2012, then hopefully Pardew can talk him into staying.

He has got the gift of the gab, but does sometimes get a little bit carried away, such as when he’s making comparisons between Hatem Ben Arfa and Lionel Messi.

When he was the West Ham United gaffer, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger clearly didn’t much appreciate what Pardew said to him…
