The first Tyne-Wear derby of the 2011/12 Premier League season between Newcastle United and Sunderland at the Stadium of Light was remembered for Ryan Taylor’s free-kick, but who will make the headlines at St James’ Park tomorrow?

If Taylor’s training regime is anything to go by, then he’s hoping that lightning can strike twice and that he’s able to get it over the Sunderland wall once more from a dead ball situation and find the back of the net.

That of course would be some feat, but given his ability when he stands over free kicks, you wouldn’t put it past him. You know just how good Taylor is at set-pieces as he doesn’t let Yohan Cabaye get a look-in.

Like the rest of the Newcastle players and fans, Taylor can’t wait for Sunday and he will perhaps savour it even more given that he thought he’d miss the game after being carried off on a stretcher against Aston Villa last month.

Here is Taylor in training whipping the ball over some defenders (I’m guessing they’re red so they look at bit more like Sunderland players) in training on Friday…

Can he do it again? Let’s hope practice makes perfect!
