It is widely thought that Americans know nothing about football. It is also assumed that women don’t like the beautiful game. However, Ashleigh Ignelzi proves both of these statements wrong, and she supports Newcastle United! Ashleigh Ignelzi is a sports reporter in the USA, focusing mainly on MLS side Columbus Crew, but her true love is Newcastle United. In case you haven’t noticed, she’s slightly better looking than your average Newcastle fan, too!
She’s a pretty talented girl, starting out on The Average Joe Sports Show in the USA before becoming the host for the Columbus Crew’s website. She also anchors her own sports radio show, serves as a remote reporter for ESPN Magazine, writes for Columbus Wired TV and maintains her own sports blog at www.thefoxyfrenzy.com, which ‘is your one stop shop for outrageous, enlightening, shocking, information in the realm of sports, entertainment and the art filled world in which we live’.

I’m assuming her love of Newcastle came about when the Magpies visited the USA on a pre-season tour and played Columbus Crew. She’s interviewed Jonas Gutierrez and Steve Harper as well as other Newcastle stars, previously Tweeting that: “Harps on the ESPN Broadcast! One of the best athletes I’ve ever interviewed! He is a natural on camera! #NUFC”. Earlier today she also Tweeted: “Shout out to Geordie Nation!! No #NUFC match so I hope instead of cheering on the lads you’re relaxing with your feet up & a cold beverage!” Amen to that!

Being a female Newcastle United fan (and without sounding too up myself, I think most say I`m far from unattractive) I find this VERY offensive!
There are loads of attractie women that like football, and plenty that support Newcaste.
Plus Tom, she`s not going to give you a second look even if you write nice thing about her, so get a life. You`re coming off like a complete caveman….

I do see it as being slightly offensive to female NUFC fans as I’ve seen many very attractive women showing there love for NUFC, but if you are looking at that perspective i’d have to say there are many more attractive fans out there, wor cheryl is a fan for one and georgie thompson the former SSN reader another.
