Demba Ba - Newcastle United strikerNewcastle face Everton at St James’ Park in the Premier League tomorrow, as the Magpies look to continue their unbeaten run. Newcastle should be backed by a bumper 50k+ crowd, many of whom will go to see another Demba Ba goal! Here are a selection of stats ahead of the match, including Ba’s incredible shot to goal ratio…

Following his remarkable goal scoring run, Demba Ba is now Newcastle’s top ranked player in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, ranked 7th. This places Ba above strikers such as Emmanuel Adebayor, Luis Suarez, and Javier Hernandez.

Steven Taylor is Newcastle’s next ranked player in 15th place, above England defenders Micah Richards and Ashley Cole. Taylor has won 15 tackles, 94% of all those attempted, along with 17 clearances and 13 blocks.

Demba Ba has been on lethal form for Newcastle, scoring 8 goals in 5 games including two hat tricks.

Ba’s goals have come from just 17 shots, making him the most lethal finisher in the Barclays Premier League with almost 50% of shots resulting in goals.

Everton gave rivals Manchester United a tough run out in their last outing, covering 118,985 metres compared to United’s 118668 metres.

Fellaini both covered the most ground and hit the top speed in that game, hitting a top speed of 11.93 metres per second and covering 12,431 metres.

Fellaini has covered the most ground in 7 out of his 8 starts for Everton this season, with his biggest performance the 13,123 metres he covered against Aston Villa.

Louis Saha’s return has been a welcome one for Everton’s struggling front line, and the French striker scored his first Premier League goal of the season in the 3-1 victory over Fulham.

Saha has already got more shots on target in his 358 minutes of action than any of his team mates with 10 shots on target (and 5 off target), averaging an effort at goal every 23 minutes 52 seconds.

In contrast, Everton’s next top shooter Leon Osman has averaged one every 48 minutes 44 seconds.

That Fellani top speed stat is huuuge.
    11.93 m/s = 42.95 km/hr
Fastest recorded human speed (according to wikipedia) is Usain Bolt at 44.72 km/hr

Must have been some run. Glad he’s not playing against this weekend.

newcastle fans, they all hated mike ashley who probably saved their club from certain financial death, now they are doing ok the fans go quiet on that front, amazing fans, blaming their saviour for their ills, when the team do ok choose to ignore the fact that they all hate mike ashley and will probably be praising him soon, absolutely shows whats wrong with football these days, poor poor fans

not all fans disliked or dislike Mike… the ones who ‘hated’ only did so out of a passion for the club and thats because they are fans of a different calibre… the club above everything, including the board, the owner and the manager. that will never change. dont piss on toon fans when you may have done the same yourself in that situation.

i myself, as anyone who knows my name will say i never hated Mike for what went wrong. but the likes of you, or rather your attitude to degrade toon fans, is utterly worthy of hating as you just look to degrade whats being done. so go FYS…

Before ya make any comment attend a home game, I hold a season ticket and the fans haven’t gone quiet, he tried to stop them by splitting up the main singing area but you still hear it all round the ground. Bridges nay be attempted to be built with his offer of cheap season extra tickets for family of season ticket holders. But anger is still there, so until you know the facts SIT DOWN SHUT UP, as the chat goes, but ya won’t know that either

You stupid fool. You have developed that opinion through listening to your stupid mates in the pub, I hope your an everton fan and youre coming to the match today. Then you’ll see what sort of fans we are. And hopefully heading back for the poorer side of Liverpool with your head down.

      In short your an idiot!!!

lol! i wasnt calling anyone an idiot, im not an everton fan so no i wasnt dissapointed by the result today. I agree that Newcastle fans are passionate but what a lot of people who dislike mike ashley to the extent which i have witnessed in newcastle and with people i talk to is that there is never ever an acknowledgement of the fact that he has pumped a lot of his own money into the club and regardless of disagreements of the way the club is run the people who dislike mike ashley have to realise that he cares a lot more than people think about the club, if he didnt he wouldnt have invested a reported £250 of his own money into the club, you dont buy a football club with a realistic prospect of earning decent money, as seems evident these days. If Mike Ashely didnt turn up, Newcastle could quite probably have faced a winding up order by now, thats all im saying and there certainly needs to be a higher level of respect for Mike Ashley than he is given and certainly doesnt deserve a lot of the criticism he receives

Fyi Dave Jones, the fans haven’t gone quiet about Ashley, they’ve just changed their direction towards backing our team while the season is underway like good fans do… we still haven’t forgiven Ashley for some of the things he’s done but he’s making good progress in repairing that hatred for some but other more die-hard hatersd will take more to be convinced that he’s the owner he professed to be when he took over…. so go back & support your little club & don’t cry too much after todays result ok 🙂

Dave Jones, what your referring to is some fans acknowledging the changes that have been made so far this season, such as having the right staff (coaches/scouts) in at the club, picked by Pardew but employed by Ashley. The board also seem to have sorted things out with Pardew and the players, which has resulted in the team playing better and the club performing better (sorting season tickets and working on transfers for Jan).
It does not mean things are rosey between board and fans!!
Whilst Ashley has righted some wrongs, there are still fuck ups. As already mentions, the singing quarter of the fans have been split up like naughty school kids, and we aren’t happy with our beloved ground being covered with sports direct shite. Then there’s the none spending of the Carroll money… to mention but a few.
True is, I don’t want to hate the bloke, I want him to get things right so we can enjoy every part of our great club. Pardew wasn’t everyone’s favourite but I think it’s fair to say that most/every fans is behind him and Ashley would be wise to follow his lead.
There’s lots of ground still to make up Dave but as Newcastle fans, if he gets it right he’s forgiven…. which is what makes us the greatest fans in the world (we have memories like elephants)
