Joey Barton: Bigmouth strikes again – You talkin’ to me?

Joey Barton has been in the news a lot recently for one reason or another. I won’t go over it again, but let’s just say he’s been living up to his infamous reputation. He’s also been mocking Newcastle’s famous son Alan Shearer for his hair, or lack of it. After naming Mario Balotelli the ‘Renegade’ he’s gone for a more common insult for Shearer: ‘slaphead’. But given Barton’s barnet, what is it they say about throwing stones and glass houses?

Football is a serious business, so let’s enjoy a bit of frivolity and make fun of Barton’s barnet. It’s thought that Barton is modelling himself on Morrissey, and even has a Smith’s lyric in his Twitter bio: ‘I decree today that life is simply taking and not giving, England is mine and it owes me a living.’ So is it a Morrissey haircut or closer to Robert De Niro as Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver?
