Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko has told France Football (translated by skysports.com) that his priority is to stay in English football if he moves from Tyneside this summer.

The French international has expressed a desire to move to Arsenal in the past and the French magazine claims that the Gunners are among three English clubs that are interested in the 26 year old. Sissoko is quoted as saying:

“My priority is to stay in England even if I’m not against going to search for a new challenge elsewhere. I particularly want to play with big players and in top-level matches.”

It is believed that the Magpies are holding out for £35million for the player but the figure has angered Sissoko’s agents who believed they had an agreement with the club that the player could leave for €18-20million (£15-17m), half the amount, if a team came in for the midfielder this summer.

Sissoko’s performances at the European Championships for France have allowed Newcastle to push up the asking price with foreign clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also believed to be interested in signing the player.
