The Bafetimbi Gomis transfer saga took another twist this evening as Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas once again went on Twitter to give an update on the situation.
Aulas has been pretty active on Twitter these past few weeks and has now passed comment on Gomis’ pending departure from the club.
Aulas Tweeted: “Alors Pierrot qu’est ce qui freine Newcastle puisque que le transfert est à 8 m € ? Serait ce la commission d’agent ? Que connaissez aussi?”
Roughly translated, this indicates that he is happy with the 8 million Euros that Newcastle have offered and the only thing that he can think of that’s holding up the deal is agent’s commission.
So first it was thought that Lyon wanted too much money, then that Gomis wanted too much money, now that his agent wants too much money!
Hopefully all parties aren’t too far apart and that this deal can be wrapped up sooner rather than later as it is really dragging on now.
Gomis would be a good addition to the Newcastle squad and with Papiss Cisse scoring last night, the Magpies would have a couple of decent options up top with the arrival of the Frenchman.
It might just be worth following @JM_Aulas as he’s likely to break the transfer news first!
