Newcastle United have announced they will hold a parade for the Carabao Cup on March 29th 2025 for supporters to celebrate the club’s first major trophy in 70 years.

The celebrations marking the end of Newcastle’s trophy drought have been going strong for days since their victory over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday evening.

Eddie Howe and his squad travelled back to the toon yesterday with the trophy in hand, greeted by their supporters and media on Tyneside after successfully breaking one of the longest-standing curses in English football’s top tier.

The Magpies did the unthinkable over the weekend when they beat holding champions and Premier League leaders comfortably, with an attacking masterclass to win 2-0 which saw Blyth-born Dan Burn open the scoring in the first half.

Liverpool’s Champions League knockout hangover seemed to leak into their efforts in the capital as they struggled to create opportunities and deliver any real threat to the hard-working Newcastle back-line.

While those who went down to London partied long into the night on Wembley Way, back in Newcastle thousands of fans gathered in the city centre at St James’ Park to celebrate the first major trophy almost any of them have ever seen in their lifetime.

Now those who remained in Tyneside will be given a glimpse of the Carabao Cup in all its glory, as the club announced plans for a trophy parade in the city on Saturday, March 29th.

The North East giants took to their social media accounts to reveal the date, but have not set out the logistics of the day of celebration though promised that more details were to follow in the coming days.

What can we expect at the Newcastle trophy parade?

There are no official details outlining what to expect from the celebrations that will be held at the end of the month, but considering the reaction and the anticipation for such a prestigious honour, it is likely to be one of the biggest events the city has ever seen in our lifetime.

We expect – like most other trophy parades – there will be a route map for an open-top bus featuring all of the Newcastle players so that supporters across the city can get a glimpse of their heroes, including Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall.

Not only that, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a live event happening in the city centre with live music and entertainment for supporters to enjoy throughout the day, but again there is nothing set in stone and any potential events are purely speculated at this point.
