Eddie Howe has confirmed it is not yet clear if Alexander Isak will feature against West Ham on Saturday.

The striker was forced off during the win over Southampton in the Carabao Cup semi-final with a head injury, with Howe revealing Isak suffered “very slight signs of concussion”.

As a result, Callum Wilson is expected to continue up front despite his recent lack of goals. Still, the England international boasts a brilliant record against Saturday’s opponents.

Bruno Guimaraes’ red card in midweek means he is suspended and his absence will likely see Joelinton drop into midfield alongside Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff.

Allan Saint-Maximin, then, could come in on the left of the attacking three, though January signing Anthony Gordon is another in contention. The former Everton forward, along with former Hammer Harrison Ashby, could make his debut.

“Both players will be available,” said Howe at Friday’s pre-match press conference.

“They did a couple of individual sessions around the game and trained with the group yesterday. It was a small group so they haven’t trained fully with the team but they’re fit and fine.”
