Eddie Howe has confirmed Alexander Isak will be in the squad for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth.
The Swedish international missed the draw with West Ham after suffering a slight concussion during the Carabao Cup semi-final win over Southampton at St James’ Park.
Isak, however, has had a full week of training and is ready to return for a must-win game for Howe’s side.
Bruno Guimaraes, meanwhile, is serving the second of his three-match suspension and will duly miss the journey down to the south coast.
While Allan Saint-Maximin hardly proved effective against the Hammers, Howe says the Frenchman has the chance to impress with Guimaraes not available.
At this stage, that would suggest Saint-Maximin is likely to start over January signing Anthony Gordon.
Newcastle United predicted XI (4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Longstaff, Willock, Joelinton; Almiron, Wilson, Saint-Maximin
