Newcastle United host Fulham in the Premier League later today, looking to take advantage of Manchester City’s slip up.
Eddie Howe’s side, who have recently welcomed back Alexander Isak and Allan Saint-Maximin from injury, made it to the League Cup semi-finals for the first time since the 1970s by beating Leicester earlier this week.
While a potential trip to Wembley is difficult to ignore, attentions now turn back onto the League campaign. Following City’s defeat, three points would take the Magpies within one of Pep Guardiola’s side in second and level of points with Manchester United.
Champions League qualification is a genuine possibility and the home form between now and the end of the season will be crucial on that front. Should Howe’s side continue to dominate at St James’ Park, it would take a brave observer to bet against them finishing in the top four.
Fulham, however, are in excellent form themselves and the return of an in-form Aleksandr Mitrovic is dripping with narrative.
Here’s where to watch the action.
