Eddie Howe has confirmed Joelinton is an injury doubt for Newcastle United’s trip to Tottenham on Sunday.
The Brazilian was forced off during Wednesday’s win over Everton with a slight knock and it is “unclear” as to whether or not he will feature for the journey to north London.
While Allan Saint-Maximin is thought to be making good progress on the hamstring injury to have ruled him out of action since August, the Frenchman is not expected to feature. Alexander Isak and Emil Krafth, meanwhile, are long-term absentees.
While Newcastle head into Sunday’s game full of confidence having lost only once all season, mounting injury problems are a concern. With Saint-Maximin and Isak already out, missing another key player in Joelinton would be a blow.
Jonjo Shelvey has returned to match day squads of late but surely won’t be rushed, while the defence has been so solid this season it would be a surprise to see it changed.
Newcastle United predicted XI (4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Longstaff, Willock, Guimaraes, Murphy, Wilson, Almiron

Doubts: Joelinton
