Eddie Howe admits he is keen on more signings at Newcastle United this summer.

What’s the latest Newcastle United transfer news?

While things have slowed down of late, few would argue the club have enjoyed a successful summer window, on the incoming front at least.

Three players have been signed, including the coup of landing a target Newcastle have chased for months in the shape of Sven Botman, and the idea of getting a full season out of Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier is hugely exciting.

Dan Ashworth is believed to be pressing ahead in his attempts to clear the squad too and, frankly, it’s difficult to remember the club heading into a new season with so much excitement around it.

What has been said about Newcastle’s transfer business?

Speaking to The Sun, Howe admitted he hoped for more additions.

“A lot can happen but we are excited to get going — and hopefully we can deliver a really good season.

Where do Newcastle want to strengthen?

Clearly, the attacking line needs work. Highlighted as an area to strengthen even before the end of last season, it is the only department of the squad not truly upgraded since October’s takeover, with Chris Wood struggling to wholly convince even if some of his performances have been better than 2 goals in 17 games would suggest.

The Daily Telegraph claim Howe is looking for two further additions up front, with both a striker to offer an alternative Callum Wilson and a right-winger understood to be the leading priorities.

A deal for Hugo Ekitike looks dead after running into complications with his agent, while Nothing But Newcastle have also been told of a failed loan bid to Chelsea for Armando Broja.
