A solid season for Steve Bruce?

With football no closer to returning, if the season were to end now would it be viewed as a successful one for Steve Bruce and Newcastle United?

Newcastle’s players last kicked a ball in competitive action 20 days ago when they earned an important 1-0 win against the OBC odds vs Southampton at St Mary’s in the Premier League.

That left them sitting 13th in the Premier League table and gave them eight points of breathing space between themselves and the relegation zone.

Fans will be content with that as they search out the latest Ladbrokes welcome offer in order to cure their lack of football with a visit online.

Newcastle’s next game is still scheduled to be at St James’ Park on Saturday 2nd of May against Tottenham Hotspur, but with big questions remaining about whether the season will be able to restart, we have to be prepared that this is it.

If you would have offered Newcastle fans Premier League safety and run to the quarter final of the FA Cup, many would have taken it, particularly with the lack of confidence in Bruce’s abilities following Rafa Benitez’s summer departure.

The Toon Army have always looked like they had enough to avoid relegation and while Manchester City would likely have knocked us out of the cup anyway, it was nice to get past the third round for once!

There have also been some positives player-wise, with Allan Saint-Maximin looking really exciting and Miguel Almirón finally finding some goalscoring form, which has evaded Joelinton all campaign.

So, if this is it, Newcastle would be given a review of pass, could to better, good effort, but plenty of room for improvement.
