Notable Newcastle United fan account @NUFC360 proposed a scenario in regards to this transfer window to their followers, with many of them seemingly agreeing on what would hypothetically represent a positive January window.
The Twitter account raised the idea in regard to two players who have been linked with a move to St. James’ Park. Indeed, with the team struggling to score goals this season, the notion of landing Ademola Lookman and Krzysztof Piątek was suggested.
Would a combination of Piatek and Lookman present a good transfer window for you? Winger and a striker. Both in dubious positions now, but fits the #NUFC mold of type. One loan with a view, the other permanent. Imo, should be possible for United to complete if they want it.

Sky Sports recently suggested RB Leipzig’s Lookman was a loan target for the Magpies with an option to buy, while the Northern Echo claimed those behind the scenes at St. James’ Park were hoping to lure Piątek on a temporary basis with a clause looking forward to a more permanent arrangement.
While the former has struggled for game time this season, his 2.3 shots per game during his loan stint in the Bundesliga in 2018 far outmatch anyone in the Toon squad this season, while the latter broke scoring records at Genoa before moving to San Siro, so both players do look as if they carry an attacking threat.
With that in mind, here’s a look at what some of the support made of that particular idea online.
Would both be great signings

I’d be happy if we signed these two to be fair, hopefully they can bring some goals and stability for our wings, totally lost without Saint maximin and Joelinton doesn’t look like scoring anytime soon

That would be a great window, those 2 would deliver on their "quality over quantity" stance, 2 players that will improve us, especially Piatek
