Prior to this afternoon’s meeting with Chelsea, Newcastle United star Allan Saint-Maximin has dropped a hint about his return to action. Indeed, the Frenchman used his Twitter account to post a short video of him ahead of the game, sending Toon fans online into meltdown.

Since picking up a hamstring injury against Southampton in early December, the Toon Army have won just once in the league and have missed his attacking threat. Only Miguel Almiron and Joelinton have made over five dribbles in the Premier League games since his lay-off, with the former Nice man averaging 4.6 so far this season (per WhoScored).

Still, as big a boost as this could be, caution must be advised. During August’s win over Tottenham, the 22-year-old was withdrawn early after returning to action and subsequently missed the next three games, as per Transfermarkt. Given the fact that there appear to be reasonably winnable games coming up in the shape of Oxford and Norwich City, keeping the winger fit must be the priority long-term.

So, given his popularity amongst supporters, here’s a look at how these fans reacted to his post.
