With Danny Rose seemingly headed for Newcastle United, the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope suggested that a loan move for the Tottenham man could spell bad news for Jetro Willems.
Indeed, the Dutchman impressed during his loan stint on Tyneside prior to his season-ending injury against Chelsea earlier this month and a £10m deal with Eintracht Frankfurt had been agreed to sign the player permanently, according to Kicker via the Chronicle.
However, with Hope reporting that Rose’s loan move to St. James’ Park had an obligation to buy inserted in the deal, he suggests Willems may not return, given Rose’s likely first-choice status in the squad considering the level of his involvement with Tottenham and England in recent years.
Still, with Willems proving an important figure during his short stint in black and white – having scored 2 goals this season against Liverpool and Manchester City – fans on Twitter weren’t exactly delighted by the idea of not seeing him back next season. With that in mind, here’s a look at some of the reaction.

Would've much preferred Willems on a permanent deal, liked the look of him, Rose isn't a bad player but his best years could well be behind him

Shame about @JetroWillems_15 he was a beast, he would drive forward and body people out the way then unleash at the keeper. Such a shame how it ended.

Would be a shame. Rose is obviously quality but would be gutted if we have seen the last of Willems for us.
