GACP Capital have been bought out of their stake in Bordeaux, and still have “designs” on Newcastle United, according to Mark Douglas.

The Chronicle journalist shared the report via his personal Twitter account on Monday afternoon.

Joseph DaGrosa, the co-founder of GACP, has been linked with a move for the Magpies before, as per the Shields Gazette, and it is understood that he is still keen on a potential takeover bid for the Toon Army.

OPINION

How many times have small rumblings like this led to the entire fanbase losing it’s head and ultimately ending up disappointment? We are surely past that point now, and the Magpies have had their hands burned too many times now to get their hopes up unnecessarily, but at the very least, you would probably say that were a deal with DaGrosa to be struck, this would have to be the first step in that process. The chances are that this will have no bearing on the future of Newcastle United whatsoever, and that it is merely coincidence, and it would certainly be advisable to view it as such, but while Mike Ashley it still at the helm, it will be hard not to keep an eye on developments such as this as not feel at least a glimmer of hope. Perhaps it would be best to file this one under interesting details worth keeping half an eye on.
