Newcastle United defender Achraf Lazaar sent Leicester City playmaker Ayoze Perez a cheeky message after seeing his latest Instagram post.

The Foxes star and the ex-Magpies attacker took to his personal Instagram account to celebrate hitting 150,000 followers and posted a picture of himself in Leicester’s pink away shirt.

“We are 150k here in Instagram! Let’s celebrate together! Do you want to win my LCFC shirt? Just follow my account, like this post, share it and mention in your stories! In a few days I announce the winner!” wrote Perez.

Lazaar, who is currently away on loan at Serie B club Cosenza, noticed that Leicester City’s away kit looked similar to Italian side Palermo’s pink kit and sent a one-word message to jokingly question if he was repping the Italian club’s shirt.

“Palermo ?” wrote the Magpies left-back on his Instagram account.

Lazaar may not have made much of on impact on the pitch for Newcastle during his Magpies career so far, but it seems he did form friendships behind the scenes. The 27-year-old couldn’t help but question if Perez had switched allegiances to Palermo as the Italian club are way more famous for wearing a pink shirt compared to Leicester City. However while Lazaar seems to be enjoying himself on social media, it’s not going great for him at Cosenza after joining them on loan in the summer. The 27-year-old has only featured twice for them so far, with his playing time totalling 83 minutes (Source: Transfermarkt) and he hasn’t made their matchday squad for the last seven league games. Lazaar may have an injury keeping him out but it’s not been widely reported, so it just looks like he isn’t being chosen. The left-back has to get playing again soon though as he really needs to get his career back on track. Lazaar’s Magpies contract doesn’t expire until 2021 and given that he has only played 10 times for the Toon despite joining them in August 2016, he needs to impress enough to have someone come and rescue him from St James Park.
