OPINION
DeAndre Yedlin may be in great form for Newcastle United at the moment but it would seem as though there is little he can do to win the affection of supporters of the USA national team. Yedlin, 26, played just under an hour in the USA’s 4-0 win against Cuba on Tuesday night but was widely criticised for his performance. It was a straightforward victory for the Americans as they ensured they would finish top of their CONCACAF Nations League group but Yedlin failed to impress despite him being the only Premier League player to feature in the starting line-up. Do the American fans just have it in for players who aren’t playing in the MLS? Or was Yedlin actually that bad? Because it seems hard to believe that a right-back can be blasted for his display in an easy 4-0 win where Cuba offered very little threat going forward. Maybe Yedlin is just their scapegoat.

I think Yedlin continues to look pretty iffy.

Did you see anything from Yedlin tonight that says he should be ahead of Cannon?
Cannon seemed to have a positive impact immediately after subbing on…

Yedlin is terrible

That cross from Cannon was more dangerous than anything Yedlin did.

For the most part, really like it. Would only swap out Cannon or Tobinson for Yedlin. He is too much of a liability.

Yedlin limps off after making a meal of an endline trap that any U12 player should easily achieve. #USMNT
