Matt Le Tissier has predicted Newcastle United will draw against Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Toon Army moved out of the bottom three with a 3-2 victory over West Ham last weekend, and are currently four points behind the Cherries, who sit seventh in the table.
But Le Tissier is expecting a close run affair when the two sides meet at St. James’ Park.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “Newcastle have been pretty steady as of late, but you never know which Bournemouth team are going to turn up.
“Equally, you do not really know how this game will turn out, so I am playing it safe.”
Le Tissier predicts a 1-1 draw.
OPINION
This promises to be a close match, and as Le Tissier suggests, it could come down to which Bournemouth turn up. Eddie Howe’s side have been extremely temperamental so far this term, and have picked up impressive wins over the likes of Everton and Manchester United while failing to win against Norwich City and Watford. The same could be said of Newcastle too, of course. They have looked better in recent weeks, with wins over West Ham and Manchester United in the not too distant past, but they have also struggled to create chances in a lot of their clashes, exemplified by the fact that they had no shots on target when they lost 1-0 to Chelsea last month, as per the BBC. As such, anything could happen, but don’t be surprised to see a fairly drab affair.
