Former Wales international Robbie Savage has delivered his prediction for Newcastle United’s trip to West Ham United on Saturday.

Steve Bruce takes his side down to the capital for the London Stadium clash, with the Magpies looking to build on last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Their opponents, on the other hand, are without a win in their last five games in all competitions and go into the game low on confidence.

As a result, Savage has predicted on the Daily Mirror website that the two teams will cancel each other out in another 1-1 draw.

OPINION

This is going to be an interesting game because both teams are suffering from similar problems at the moment. Namely, they can’t regularly score goals or create goalscoring opportunities. Admittedly, this is more of an issue for Newcastle than West Ham, but the Hammers have certainly struggled with putting the ball in the back of the net in recent weeks. They can’t seem to get enough players in and around club record signing Sebastien Haller, with the Frenchman looking incredibly isolated recently as a result. However, Newcastle are even worse when it comes to creativity. So it’s no surprise that Savage is predicting a low-scoring affair on Saturday. West Ham will be the favourites in east London, and rightly so, although it’s not inconceivable that Newcastle may find a way to come away from this game with something. Still, they will need better performances from the likes of Joelinton and Miguel Almiron than we have seen thus far this season.
